A guidepath is the generic term to define the path that a run of LED modules follows.
Guidepaths come in two types: PowerFlow Guidepaths and Vector Guidepaths. PowerFlow Guidepaths are edited in PowerFlow, and Vector Guidepaths are edited using the standard Vector Edit Tool.
PowerFlow Guidepaths
This is the set of points that are used by PowerFlow to create a path of modules. These points are not editable but are visible when using PowerFlow. They are also used as guides when creating new modules in PowerFlow by dragging.
Vector Guidepaths
This type of guidepath is new for version 8 and they are simply open vector paths in a vector object. Previously, all LED objects have to be closed paths that were filled with modules, but now you have closed and open paths in LED objects, and the open vector paths are converted to PowerFlow Guidepaths for adding modules. You can even populate an object with only open paths, such a freehand drawn vector object, where all vector data is treated as a Vector Guidepath.
